 There are moments in life when everything changes with just a few words. A conversation that introduces a new reality you never expected to face. You don't have to face the diagnosis alone; you can be held by God's grace. Whether it is cancer, chronic illness, debilitating pain, or another life-altering diagnosis, the journey can bring emotions that are difficult to put into words. Fear. Grief. Uncertainty. Questions that seem to have no answers. You may find yourself mourning the life you once imagined—I know initially I did when I was diagnosed with a life-altering disease. The truth is, sometimes I still do.
You may wonder how you will continue, what the future holds, or why this has become part of your story. But even in the middle of what feels overwhelming, there is a truth that remains unshaken: God is still present. He does not ask us to minimize our pain or pretend that suffering does not hurt. He sees the tears we cry in private, the battles others may never know about, and the strength it takes just to face another day. Joy does not mean that everything around us is easy. Joy is a gift from God that reaches deeper than our circumstances. It is the quiet assurance that even when life feels uncertain, we are held by a faithful Father who has not left our side. This diagnosis may have changed your life, but it has not changed your worth, your purpose, or God’s love for you. God can carry you through this journey and walk with you through every step ahead.
